The Running time for this film is 107 minutes.

The story is about, Moll a troubled 27 year old still living at home, with her oppressive family. stifled by the small island community around her and too beholden to her family to break away. When she meets Pascal, a secretive outsider suspected of a series of brutal murders. Then a whole new world opens up to her.

It is a Thriller/Drama Genre. I found it to be a really good film. It was gripping throughout and kept me guessing. Well worth watching.

Cast members, Jessie Buckley, Johnny Flynn and Geraldine James. Directed by, Michael Pearce.

Truth or Dare

The Running time for this film is 100 minutes.

The story is about a group of friends on their last spring break together before they go out into the big wide world.  Whilst on spring break they meet someone and play a harmless game of Truth or Dare. The game turns deadly when someone or something starts to punish those who tell a lie or refuse to do the dare.

It is a Horror Genre. I found it to be a well thought idea and a good horror film. As a huge horror fan it kept me well entertained throughout the film, as I wanted to know who or what was behind it. The film was not very gory as you did not see everything that happened, but this did enable viewers to use their imagination. I would say it is worth a watch, but don’t rush if you have other things to do.

Cast members, Lucy Hale, Tyler Posey and Violett Beane. Directed by, Jeff Wadlow.

The Running time for this film is 115 minutes.

The story is about a rogue experiment in space, which falls to earth after an accident on the main ship. The contents of the experiment capsules leak onto animals, including George an albino gorilla.   which turns them into raging creatures of enormous size. A zoo primatologist named Davis Okoye (played by Dwayne Johnson) teams up with George, in order to stop the other animals destroying the town and killing people.

It is a science fiction Genre with a monster theme. I found it to be a totally gripping film throughout with plenty of action. The special effects are fantastic and the film is well worth going to see on the big screen.

Cast members, Dwayne Johnson, Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman and Jake Lacy. Directed by, Brad Peyton.

Death Wish

The running time is 108 minutes.

The story is about a surgeon, who’s home is broken into and the intruders brutally attack his wife and daughter. He then becomes obsessed with vigilante justice and starts issuing it out to the perpetrators.

It is Drama/Crime in genre. It is a remake of the 1974 film staring Charles Bronson. I found this film good and it kept me entertained until the end. I found It a lot less graphic or violent than the original, but that is just my opinion. I would say this film is worth a watch if you fancy a good night out.

Cast Members, Bruce Willis, Vincent D’Onofrio, Camilo Morrone and Dean Norris. Directed by, Eli Roth.

A Quiet Place

The Running time for this film is 90 minutes.

The story is about post apocalyptic America. It follows a family who must live in silence, otherwise they will be hunted by creatures who hunt by sound.

It is a Horror Genre. I found it to be an excellent film which made me jump twice (which is twice more than I usually jump in a horror film). Some of the audience members were screaming whilst even some of the hardened looking men were also jumping and screaming. The acting, story and directing is so good it takes you into the movie.

This was very well written and made and I would highly recommend this film to any horror fan, or people that like to be scared.

I feel this is the best horror film this year so far.

Cast members, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe.  Directed by, John Krasinski.

Love Simon

The running time for this film is 110 minutes.

This is based on the book “Simon VS the Homo Sapiens Agenda” by Becky Albertalli.

The story is about a 17 year old boy called Simon who is keeping a secret that he is gay, from all his classmates, friends and family. It deals with his situation of him coming to terms with his identity, when his secret is threatened.

Love Simon is a film that should be shown in all schools with children over the age of 13. This is because the film would help the young people to understand Gay people and see their feelings from their side. Hopefully making them more understanding and accepting.

This is a great film that is called a comedy but I would also add a bit of a love story into the mix. Nick Robinson is a great actor for only 23 years old (22 when he did the film). I think he will go far and is set to be the new Zac Efron where his career and the ladies are concerned.

Cast members, Nick Robinson, Katherine Langford and Keiynan Lonsdale. Directed by, Greg Berlanti.

Ghost Stories

The film has a running time of 98 minutes.

Professor Goodman who is a skeptic in the paranormal, is tested to the max when he is given three files containing details on hauntings. He then goes to investigate each one for himself.

The film is a horror in genre to which I agree. However in my opinion as a major horror fan, it is more of a jumpy horror than a gore fest or scary story. That said I think the film is great and should be watched so go and see it. I recommend this film even if you are a die hard horror fan or it is your first scary movie.

The horror side apart, the story in the film is very good and I really liked the end. I won’t comment any more than that in case you go and see it. All I will say is different people had different ideas about the end. I know this as I spoke and listened to people on the way out of the cinema. The acting was very good, but then look at the quality of the actors in the film. I don’t need to say anymore.

Cast members, Andy Nyoman, Martin Freeman, Alex Lawther and Paul Whitehouse. Directed by, Andy Nyoman and Jeremy Dyson

ReadyPlayer One

Even though the film was 140 minutes  long it seemed as though it was only a short film. This was because the story was strong and kept you interested.

The action was full on throughout the film. A must for any computer game fan young and old. Older gamer and film fans will recognise some characters that will make you smile and take you back in time.

The story was futuristic with music dated back in the 1980’s/90’s. A great combination of visual and sound.

Cast members Tye Sheridan, Mark Rylance and Olivia Cooke. Directed by Steven Spielberg.

I highly recommend this movie.

This film is 102 minutes long and I found it entertaining all the way through. Although it is not the kind of film you would watch with your parents or children.

It is a good comedy, and probably represents the way all the parents in the world feel and the way they would like to react.

John Cena showed that he could act as well as wrestle. Leslie Mann and Ike Barinholtz also star. With Kay Cannon doing an excellent job directing the film.

I recommend this film.

Midnight Sun

The film is 91 minutes long and I would call this a movie for the ladies, however it is well worth watching if you are male.

The main story is about a girl with XP (Xeroderma pigmentosum) which is a rare genetic condition, which means you cannot go out in sunlight. It is good to see this condition like this brought to the forefront and people made aware of it.

It is a love story where girl meets boy after watching him for years.

Cast members, Rob Riggle, Bella Thorne and Patrick Schwarzenegger. Directed by, Scott Speer.

A very good film, well worth watching.

A Wrinkle in Time

The film has a running time of 109 minutes long but it was like a lifetime. The story was week and I kept waiting for things to happen, but got nothing really.

There was no strong action in this film but the graphics and special effects are great. They are the best bit of the film.

I feel there was a great opportunity wasted with this film, as the idea behind it was a great idea and could have had so much more of a story done with it.

This film is ok if you have young kids but not for the serious film goers..

Cast members Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling. Directed by Ava DuVernay.
